        Since these animals are considered food not pets, their pain and suffering are irrelevant when they were left to drown. Shame on this cruel and disgusting industry and shame on everyone who continues to consume them!

        Not to minimize the loss for individual farmers, but N. Carolina processes a wopping 781 million chickens per year. The 3.4 million chickens lost in Florence represents only a 1% loss of their annual processing total.
