Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley sent a letter to the attorneys for Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, saying his committee is investigating her accusations and the Monday hearing will proceed.
-
-
He offered to dispatch committee investigators to interview Ford “at a time and place convenient to her.” Grassley reiterated the committee’s offer to allow Ford to testify in a closed session.

Except that it is. You can’t just repeat a lie without calling it out. You have a disturbing pattern of just repeating GOP lies without fact checking

But it is...they already investigated him 6 times prior to this accusation It's kinda what they do for judgeships
-
They missed his rape attempt.
-
Because the victim hadn't come forward And yet the
@gop had to be aware of something disconcerting thus the letter of 65 women available at the ready

Definitely. If only we had some kind of bureau who investigated matters of federal import!
-
The FBI received the letter and forwarded it to the WH to file in his background check folder. That's where their responsibility ends with 36 yr old accusations of non federal crimes.https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/13/politics/kavanaugh-feinstein-letter-fbi/index.html …

Valid point. But it's up to the White House who wants the target of a potential investigation on the Supreme Court to determine whether the FBI should investigate whether he should be on the Supreme Court? Yikes.
-
I don't know that the WH would determine anything here either. I may misunderstand, but I think the point is that no one owns this, jurisdiction-wise. Also, it's impossible to prove or disprove given the gaps in her recollection.

It is exactly what the FBI does. Bush had the FBI investigate sexual predator Clarence Thomas.

WRONG! There is no statute of limitations on rape and assault in Maryland! Are you starting to forget the law? Maybe time to retire...

You can always add that James Comey said on KWMU today that the FBI would investigate something like this at the request of the White House

They know how to do a hell of a lot better job of it than you do, Senator.

Kavanaugh is about to be on the Supreme “effing” Court, you bet your backside the FBI needs to know if he is lying about an attempted sexual assault. What if he has to rule on a case of a female student being raped by a privileged frat boy?
