When researchers first discovered a link in the late 1990s between childhood adversity and chronic health problems later in life, the real revelation was how common those experiences were across all socioeconomic groups.https://n.pr/2NMo4aJ

Children with ACEs are more@likely to smoke, be teen parents, suffer significant mental health issues, and die younger. Be good to your kids people ..

Unfortunately there are too many parents who have no clue how to parent, because their parents had no clue how to parent, does that make sense?

I work in a HS in a small town where no one seems to move away from. The cycle is real. Generations of kids being parented by people who weren’t parented by people who weren’t parented.

I've been studying the effects of developmental trauma for years now, and am still astounded at the far-reaching devastation that can creep into every area of one's life. Unresolved trauma is a top public health crisis in our nation. Trauma-Informed education is so important!

Now think of thousands of children ripped away from parents & tortured mentally & physically. Our government is perpetrating this human rights abuse in OUR name using OUR tax dollars. Now with for profit tent cities OUR $ going to corporations. We must stop this sadistic policy.

Thank you for keeping a light on ACEs & their continual detrimental effect on lives. As a CASA/GAL, I’ve seen 1st-hand how devastating the initial AND lasting effects are, especially in minorities. As an adult survivor of abuse w/related TBI, imperative to keep ACEs upfront.

While it might seems like common sense conclusion, it is important scientifically proven connection that has many implications for our society, education, healthcare, & more. Why AG Session & Donald Trump didn't read this study, maybe they would not split families at the border.

Real trauma, almost killed by birth father at 3 months, in hosp until adopted at 14 months, into an alcoholic and abusive family. Now have colitis and MS. I smoked (quit), but I'll never forget the other horrors, the nightmares, the ptsd, living on the street. Teach Parenting.
