In 9th grade, I wrote a report on Homer and how he was not a tragic hero. He was a philanderer. My English teacher (white male) gave me a “F.” That’s how you learn to “go along & get along.”

I swore the whole point of the illiad was to setup the fact that the War changed Achilles and that he was no longer a good man. His illiad was literally him trying to become better before he reached his wife. Now this guy thinks he can match a great classic. LOL

Are you thinking of Odysseus, who takes 10 years to get home to his wife Penelope? In The Odyssey?

Omg you're right! I mixed them up. Now I have to go re-read the illiad. Thanks. Brava.
