Yeah, so the rush over the past 30-40 years to only push STEM and literacy competentcies on state standardized tests at the expense of the social sciences has played a direct role in the stupidity that you read daily on Twitter & in article comments sections (and in elections).

Naming all 50 states isn’t enough. Civics is the space for critical thinking, understanding primary sources and debating with tolerance. Civic education is much needed.
