If you try to pause AI development what you're going to get is CCP Marxist AGI. Please try to think harder about the actual possible futures. The only real way to de-risk AI right now is to pour as much energy into the alignment problem as possible, with moonshot research.

He says the right things but that's a low bar. Let's see what he and the people he plans to work with can actually do. How bright is he really? If he isn't one of the smartest people in the world he should be in charge of this.

Please be ironic, what coordination is there from an airship? This is just an excuse to ramp up transnational extrajudicial process, since GW didn’t cut it.
A glimmer of hope for global coordination restricting human action and research / thought. All the while viral gain of function still exists.

We are very, very early, in both AI and doom about it. I expect all this hype to cool down in a few months. People have now bravely stated they are "worried" about doom, then will go on to doing usual things.
