    The streak continues at 65 weeks of more than 40% of the Lower 48 in drought. We're now tied for the 2nd longest 40% streak in history with March 12, 2002 – June 3, 2003. The Lower 48 slightly increased in drought coverage to 55.2% from 55.1%.

    New Seasonal Drought Outlook by ’s takes us through winter. Drought should improve (but mostly remain) in parts of the Pacific Northwest, CA, Upper Midwest, South, HI. But, drought may expand in TX, the Southwest, Southeast, and PR. Elsewhere...drought persists.
