The bills are knee jerk reactions that respond to a false narrative of crime. They don't solve root causes of crime - they don't even consider what root causes are. They are punitive and we urge the Senate to vote NO.

Despite the fact that crime is down in New Jersey, the Assembly saw fit to pass a slate of bad crime bills - including A4931, which extends sentences for motor vehicle theft and A5034, which expands the crime of leader of auto theft trafficking network.
