Brad. I’m a Youth Advisor and two-time cancer survivor. I founded — a charity and digital app that combats isolation among people with cancer using UK wide peer support groups. I look forward to sharing my story with you!

  10. I began a lifelong regime of TK Inhibitors, called Imatinib. I remember feeling a sense of liberation. With the support of my incredible parents, I decided to move to London and begin to put my life back together. I joined the family at Hammersmith Hospital 💙

  11. 5 ⭐️ treatment at and then specialist treatment at Freeman Hospital helped me get back on my feet and I began to process what was actually happening. I was in a total state of shock for a while. I’m still processing to this day.

  12. It all happened so quickly. A trip to A&E, the out of hours GP, a blood test and then the results. All I can remember is “your blood results are back and they’re not right, in fact they’re very wrong”. I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia on 13th June 2013 at age 19.

  13. I was in a place where I was finally able to be myself and I was loving every moment. Although beneath this happiness there was, yet again, something lurking. I felt my body changing badly and I didn’t understand why. I didn’t really care until my mum noticed and took action...

  14. Here we go: I grew up in Yorkshire with a loving family, an annoying (but incredible) older brother and amazing friends. I wasn’t happy though. I always felt different, like I was lying and it affected how I interacted with people. I came out at 17, that was my true beginning...

‘This is an opportunity to look back and reflect on the decades of hard work so many people have done for the LGBT+ community, celebrate their achievements and recognise their contributions.’ — hear more from during his takeover next week. 🏳️‍🌈

'Whilst we learn from our history, it's also important that we use this month to look to the future. There's still so much to be done to make sure the LGBT+ community doesn't suffer the impact of inequalities, not just in health care, but in all walks of life.'

  16. Going to be honest, I’m a bit nervous, but super excited. This week is a busy one and I’m looking forward to showing you all what I get up to day-to-day, introduce you to some amazing people and tell you what I’m passionate about. But first... coffee 😍

A massive thank you to Matty for curating the account this week! A young carer and Health Champion. He did an amazing job helping to raise the profile of young carers and the help and support available to them.

I would like to thank everyone for giving their time this past week, who listened and read about my journey as a YC. Without you guys, we wouldn’t be able to get our point across. Which would result in even less support to Young Carers.
