    The preliminary peak observed water level during TS Fred was 3.37 ft MHHW (inundation) measured at Apalachicola, FL. Higher levels may have occurred between tide stations.

    A Storm Surge Warning is now in effect for Tropical Storm along the Florida Panhandle from Indian Pass to the Steinhatchee River. Water levels of 2-4 ft above ground level are expected within that area.

    For hurricanes, the old adage goes "run from the water, hide from the wind." For some people, a should NOT be taken at their home. Determine what evacuation zone you live in, and if local officials tell you to evacuate before a hurricane to avoid storm surge, GO!
