Most Israel-Palestine takes suck. Basically: One side's an innocent victim who's never done anything wrong--It's all the other side's fault. I don't mean you can't pick a side. But when asking "who's responsible for this violence?," the honest answer is almost always both.

I generally agree, but without Trump’s largely meaningless move of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem? Not as many people would have died today, irrespective of relative “fault.”

Not clear how much embassy move plays in. Protests building for a while, and were planned around the 70th anniversary of Israeli independence/Nakba Day. Not saying embassy move is irrelevant. Just that it's impossible to know how much of a difference it made to Gaza protests.
