I'd also toss some of the blame on the League of Nations/UN/Britain for their not-so-great management of the area. Plus a few other foreign entities. It has been a messy and complex situation from the start, to be sure.

Sure, them too. Let's add the Arab autocracies and the United States under various presidents while we're at it.
-
Totally. And the worst part about it is that most of the nations/orgs/people we're referencing here have probably convinced themselves that they had nothing to do with any of it. But that's just how it goes, I suppose.

Please do consider proportionality of response. There is violence and then there is killings
-
Under Just War Theory, proportionality means one cannot use more force than is necessary to accomplish a reasonable goal. Not that the stronger side must act as if it has the same capabilities as the weaker side.
-
Unfortunately for 3000 people who have been shot today theory doesn’t matter. By any means necessary is not acceptable when people with stones are being shot

I generally agree, but without Trump’s largely meaningless move of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem? Not as many people would have died today, irrespective of relative “fault.”
-
Not clear how much embassy move plays in. Protests building for a while, and were planned around the 70th anniversary of Israeli independence/Nakba Day. Not saying embassy move is irrelevant. Just that it's impossible to know how much of a difference it made to Gaza protests.

Complex, nuanced views that can't fit on a bumper sticker are rarely popular.

Both Israeli (+ western allies) and Palestinian (+ Arab allies) leaders are to blame, but without doubt Palestinian people suffer exponentially worse than Israelis

Only one side had military snipers

"Who's responsible for the violence" is ultimately not a useful question to ask. More helpful to focus on culpability in more easily delimited matters, eg. a given shooting. In such matters you can at least hope to arrive at actionable answers.
