I'll let the legal experts correct me here, but the nature of the implementing legislation and the fact that it's an executive-only agreement means Trump has a lot of legal latitude here.

The premise of the deal was Iran will comply with NPT and inspections regime and other parties will end nuclear related sanctions. If Iran keeps it's end of the bargain and US reimposes sanctions anyway the US is breaking the deal

The US can break the deal in a way that does or does not violate US law. Trump's breaking it legally. I don't see how these are mutually exclusive.
