Perhaps more accurate to specify the Second Industrial Revolution, which began in the late 19th century, and included railroads, electricity, chemicals, fertilizer, oil, cars, planes, etc. Led to suburbs, mechanized warfare, consumerism, mass culture, and so much more. /2
