Yeah, you believe all sorts of things. But “with knowledge of” ≠ “authorized by.” A small distinction, but enough that McCabe didn’t “incriminate” Comey. Just because Donald Trump couldn’t handle testifying under oath without lying doesn’t mean James Comey couldn’t.https://twitter.com/politicalshort/status/975147001200259072 …

McCabe asserts in his post firing statement he not only had authority to “share” info to the media but did so w/knowledge of “the director." He's referring to 2016 WSJ leak & I believe he just incriminated Comey for lying to Congress 1 -McCabe statement 2 -Comey testimony 5/3/17 pic.twitter.com/d79opNVbEE

For some reason, Short ignores the passage—which he highlighted!—where McCabe points out he had the legal authority to tell the press. If he had the legal authority, no one else had to authorize it. Officials only authorize that which their subordinates aren’t authorized to do.

This is what happens when you start with an illogical conclusion--lifelong Republicans in the FBI made public information that damaged Hillary's candidacy as part of a conspiracy to elect her--and work backwards. But hey, if this obviously flawed point fails, move on to another.

Nicholas Grossman Retweeted Donald J. Trump

And now the president's pushing this erroneous argument. Only with the added lie of "known someone else to be an anonymous source" rather than "authorized" one. Big difference. Of course Comey would have known some anonymous sources. Never said otherwise.https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/975341676297445377 …

Wow, watch Comey lie under oath to Senator G when asked “have you ever been an anonymous source...or known someone else to be an anonymous source...?” He said strongly “never, no.” He lied as shown clearly on @foxandfriends.

A fascinating aspect of this era is the feedback loop between Trump and pro-Trump media 1) He lies or says something self-contradictory 2) They scramble to justify it 3) He sees that on TV and repeats it 4) Trumpist media and his online fans amplify it 5) Lie-ther, rinse, repeat

          Replying to @NGrossman81

Not the only time he has lied under oath. He claimed the FBI did not reach a conclusion on the email investigation until after they interviewed Hillary. Except the documents to exonerate her were already written and they changed words like grossly negligent to extremely careless.
