Seems to me a NATO ally accusing Moscow of direct complicity in an act of terrorism using WMD on their soil is quite the crisis, and we should be paying closer attention to how the chips fall on this one.

I'd say that's an overstatement. He's tougher than anyone thought he'd be, and many are selectively blind to the ways in which he's defied expectations. But he has not deterred Russian aggression in the Mideast and it's spycraft remains reckless. That's not a new development.

Tougher in some areas than many expected is reasonable. And I doubt anyone could get Russia to halt the reckless spycraft. Here I'm referring not to the UK nerve attack itself, but Trump's decision not to unequivocally back America's closest ally and pursue a joint response.
