Donald Trump meeting directly with Kim Jong-un carries risks, but it's also an opportunity to change a situation that's gotten steadily worse across multiple presidencies.
Me, in @NRO, with 3 out-of-the-box ideas:https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/03/north-korea-talks-trump-strategy-should-be-ambitious/ …
But Iran doesn't have nukes. North Korea does. Dealing with a nuclear-armed country is much different than dealing with one without nuclear weapons.

we don't know that Iran doesn't. (ie. Fordham, and why would they be testing missiles so often?). Russia and China are a bit different than N Korea. And NK has yet to demonstrate critical RV tech, however, the EMP threat is very real with the ability to orbit satellites

We're confident Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons. Intel agencies from many countries (US, UK, France, Germany, Israel, etc.) watch Iran closely. They're under the strictest international inspections of any country. Satellites and spy drones look down from above.

I'm not totally sure where that confidence comes from. The India-Pakistan nuke revelations weren't exactly predicted..
