OK: Individuals choosing where to spend or not spend their money, and businesses choosing to partner or not partner with private organizations. That's free enterprise. NOT OK: Governments designing tax policy to favor or not favor a company based on those private associations.https://twitter.com/foxandfriends/status/968449661395550208 …

If you want to boycott a business that gives discounts to NRA members, that's up to you. If you want to boycott a business that cuts ties with the NRA, that's up to you. If you don't care who a business gives discounts to, that's fine too. But it's not okay for government.

Tax laws that treat businesses differently based on which private lobbying groups they give discounts to is crony capitalism. Instead of businesses competing in the market based on consumer choice, they compete for government favor based on political positions.

After Fox fired Bill O'Reilly, I wrote about his case and four other cases of consumer/corporate activism--Don Imus, Chik-fil-A, Uber, Under Armour--each of which ended differently. The point, as with the NRA and Delta: This is a normal part of capitalism.https://arcdigital.media/capitalism-defeats-bill-oreilly-8a9ad8f57cc6 …

Businesses building brands to attract consumers, and consumers freely choosing where to spend their money, is free enterprise. Everyone who calls themselves pro-market should strongly oppose Georgia's efforts to interfere in the market to advance certain political positions (END)
