The logic for arming teachers is stop a shooting before police arrive, not deter one. To argue that, you have to believe it outweighs risks armed teachers will misperceive threats, hit more people in a crossfire, and confuse police arriving on scene looking for an active shooter.

In some cases yes. In other cases, they turn their guns on themselves. Either way, there are very few instances in which a shooter expects to get away unscathed, showing they're not deterred by knowing someone will shoot back.
