I know facts don't matter to you, but... This was also approved by the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce, Energy, Treasury, Attorney General, the US Trade Rep, Office of Science and Technology, and Utah's nuclear regulatory commission. Hillary didn't run those.https://twitter.com/RepMattGaetz/status/961694188093009920 …

I didn't mention this in my How Did Conspiracy Theories Get So Dumb article, but it's a great example. How could anyone possibly think Hillary Clinton single-handedly duped the US military and the Republican-run government of Utah? It's so, so dumb.https://arcdigital.media/how-did-conspiracy-theories-get-so-dumb-d1126752dc16 …

I agree with most of your arguments made in this article, however, especially concerning the Trump-Putin conspiracies, I think there is reason to believe there is some truth there. The only reason we are aware of any of it is due to the absurd incompetence of Trump and his people

What do you have in mind by "some truth there"? We know about things like the Don Jr.-arranged Trump Tower meeting, indicating a willingness to work with the Russian government, so it's not nothing. But even that doesn't fit with an elaborate multi-year conspiracy.

I was thinking that Putin has been developing Trump for years as an asset for financial reasons and only switched to "active" support once it appeared he had a chance to win the nomination. Therefore Trump only became aware after that point...That's what I hope Mueller finds out

I'm skeptical, but we'll see. Regardless, that's quite a bit less elaborate than some of the conspiracy theories of active collusion going back years. And believers often express it with certainty, rather than "I hope."
