The deadlock in DC exists because of contradictory voter demand, not the two-party system. There is no - repeat NO - getting around the hard work of improving the citizenry, without which no cosmetic changes to the number of parties will matter.

Multiparty systems often get gridlocked too. And when they're divided, they allow a small party to manipulate the whole system by playing kingmaker. US just has big arguments within major parties instead of coalition building in the legislature. I'm fine with that.
