Democrats releasing their own memo is a bad idea 1) Nunes memo weak even on its own terms 2) Nunes already widely debunked 3) Conspiracy theorists can’t be dissuaded 4) Dem memo also just Reps’ conclusions, not hard evidence 5) Feeds into “both sides” coverage Just let Nunes flop

I have seen a lot of Dem energy put in to saying more data will be exculpatory. I think they have to release their memo. Otherwise they will get hammered on it repeatedly.

But it's not data. It's just different top-line conclusions.

The claim was that other evidence about Page will show that the warrant application didn't just rest on the dossier.

Sure. But any memo just makes that claim. It doesn't prove or disprove it with evidence.

Sure, it's just going to be a pile of words, but any additional context would be helpful.

Unless their purpose is for Trump to reject its release and lose even more credibility. That is typical political thinking.

I guess. But that's a gamble either way, and either result sucks them into the dueling memos game.

I wholly agree with you. They get down in the mud with the GOP. Childish & unnecessary.

Good point. I'm not sure what they think they can add to the discussion that Nunes, being blatantly incompetent, didn't.

I doubt #ShitholePresident @realDonaldTrump will release it, I read there is embarrassing #trump info in it. 😁😂😃😄😅

one more: it will reveal additional information that should remain secret. Dem’s argument that Reps compromise national security is void. But if they do it, they better make sure that their memo meets the standards @DavidAFrench has outlined.http://amp.nationalreview.com/article/456122/what-nunes-memo-says-doesnt-make-case …

And Nunes had to acknowledge that a document he had includes the provenance of the Steele Dossier in a footnote. Even weaker.

Good points. The Dem Memo seems to provide accuracy around the process & in the end backs up the men/women of FBI's actions. Considering that they are under "assault" by the GOP/Trump that alone may be enough reason to release it.
