What happened to "defeated ISIS," as in past tense/already accomplished? Trying to score cheap political points isn't the best way to acknowledge the reality that ISIS remains an ongoing challenge and Syria is far from solved, but at least you're acknowledging reality.https://twitter.com/PressSec/status/956014223611650051 …
As I wrote previously, the 3-year US-backed campaign against ISIS' territory has been quite successful. However, it would be a mistake to think this means ISIS is defeated. The group primarily exists on the internet, and retains a physical presence in Syria, Libya, and elsewhere.

Very true, maybe clarify the original Tweet with that info instead of just being super partisan.

Brevity often gets in the way of clarity (such is Twitter). My big concern is the US not declare "Mission Accomplished" prematurely when a lot of the overlapping challenges posed by ISIS and the Syrian civil war remain.

Ok very true, but there's nothing wrong with celebrating progress, agree though shouldn't say they are entirely defeated until they actually are.

Completely agree.
