Chelsea Manning is running for Senate. Voters, and the Democratic Party, should reject her.
Supporters, such as @ggreenwald, say those who oppose Manning are trying to keep trans people out of office.
But the problem isn't who she is. It's what she did.https://arcdigital.media/chelsea-manning-does-not-belong-in-the-senate-c9b8441ffcac …

Could you help me understand how you arrived at the conclusion that this leak helped the Taliban? I haven't seen or read anything that explains that. She was aquitted of aiding the enemy and its largely accepted that the leaks did not lead to any harm of US service members.
-
Leaked docs included the names of Afghans who were informing on the Taliban to the United States.
-
Right, and those informants were relocated for their safety just in case any retaliation happened, of which there was none reported. In my opinion I do not think that equates to aiding the Taliban. The only report that informants were harmed that I can find is on Breitbarf.
-
You're noting that the US reacted to the leak quickly, before the Taliban could use it to cause serious damage. That's not much of a defense. Definitely could have been worse. But losing informants and having to scrap some plans hurt US/Afghan war effort, thereby aiding Taliban.

This 17 year war is far more damaging to our economy, our individual rights, and our foreign relations, which I know is a whole other subject of which we may very well agree. But I can't believe we would be anywhere better in this war effort today had the info not been leaked.
