Neither article moves the discussion forward about the mutual exclusivity of jewish/secure/democratic/prosperous. Saying two- or multi-state solutions are impossible doesn't address underlying problem.

Not fully, no. But it does a little. Everyone who keeps trying for an impossible solution isn't putting effort towards other, more plausible improvements.

The attraction of two- or multi-state solutions to American sensibilities is they appeal to our deeply ingrained separatist impulses, plus aversion to the exhausting complexity of Israeli & mideast culture & politics. Screw it, separate.
