Take that, refugees! Guess you never should have forced the United States to take Israel's side on Jerusalem instead of trying to broker the disputing claims. Or something.https://twitter.com/ShibleyTelhami/status/948300915844550658 …

The US is no longer an honest broker in world affairs. History is littered with examples of great nations that have faded into obscurity in global influence. America is experiencing this process as we enter 2018. Only a major change in leadership & foreign policy can reverse it.

Instinctually, I want to argue against this, but I'm not sure I can. I mean, the US certainly hasn't "faded into obscurity in global influence." But its influence has declined, and some of that was avoidable.

I said the US " is in the process". Sure you're still a major global influence, but the decay is starting, and can only be arrested by a major change in leadership and foreign policy. A good place to start would be to staff your embassies around the world.

Yeah... plus filling the vacant ambassadorships and undersecretaries of state positions.

FWIW, all the BernieBros who told me that Hillary was too pro-Israel to get their vote can just eat a bag of dicks right now. There's pro-Israel and then there's kicking refugees in the teeth. Failure to distinguish between the two is unconscionable.
