Stop calling the tax bill undemocratic. Yes, I know polls say it's very unpopular. And no, I don't think it's good policy. But elected majorities in the House and Senate voted for it and the president signed it. We don't govern by public opinion poll.
Senate rules weren't ignored so much as manipulated. When any were violated, the parliamentarian prevented the bill from moving forward.

Disagree. The decision not to hold hearings or include Democrats in discussions hold a markup or make amendments in order or await a CBO score are the determinations of the Majority Leader, the parliamentarian holds no control over those parts of the process.

Haha, it’s almost like you think you will benefit for more than a few months, plus they repealed the mandate so your insurance will skyrocket. Congrats.

And we haven't even started talking about gerrymandering or voter suppression yet. There's a lot that has become "undemocratic" in governance in the US.

That's why I said "abused," rather than violated. Just because the Senate is democratically-elected, that doesn't mean it can't be undemocratic. The Senate makes its own rules -- and many of them have been created precisely to make the body less democratic.
