Stop calling the tax bill undemocratic. Yes, I know polls say it's very unpopular. And no, I don't think it's good policy. But elected majorities in the House and Senate voted for it and the president signed it. We don't govern by public opinion poll.
Democratic as in according to well-established electoral and lawmaking rules. If you want to argue that the US isn’t a democracy, and therefore nothing done by the government is democratic, that’s a different conversation.

Ok, by the standard you lay out, are you saying the electoral & lawmaking rules were followed as they have been in the past for major legislation of this magnitude? (As for the other point, if the majority of Americans support legislation, it's democratic on one level.)

I would add to that last point that if legislation has neither the support of the majority of Americans nor undergone rigorous bipartisan debate, inclusive of hearings/panels/etc. I'd argue it's not democratic by either standard
