The UN can't dictate anything to the US. General Assembly resolutions are non-binding, and US has a veto in the Security Council. UN members are free to express their opinions. The US is free to ignore them. (Seriously, today is Terrible UN Take Day on Twitter)https://twitter.com/davidharsanyi/status/944025152253317120 …
I'm a fan of what now? The US could pull funding from the big recipients (Afghanistan, Israel, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan). Or from theocratic authoritarians like the Saudis. Those countries (except Israel) voted against the US. But the money's not a favor. It advances US interests.

Please point out where I say UN vote today was binding.

You didn't say the UN vote is binding, but you did say the "UN attempts to dictate." They can't dictate anything and they know it. No reason to over-inflate their importance.
-
So I didn't say what you claimed. My bad, tho. I assumed you understood how Twitter worked. That comment was in reaction to someone who was comparing Haley to Joe McCarthy.
-
You said "UN attempts to dictate..." and I responded with "The UN can't dictate anything to the US." But yeah, comparing Haley to McCarthy is ridiculous. "You know who else put people on a list? Hitler!" (If you're going there, might as well go all the way).
-
The UN can "attempt to dictate" through international pressure. That's the point. I was just pointing out that yr snarky "non-binding" comment was irrelevant to my tweet.
