Take the phrase "same-sex marriage" and replace "same-sex" with "interracial." Then ask if a position is discriminatory. If the answer is "yes," then the answer is yes.
Churches and other religious institutions can marry or not marry whomever they please. But state-sanctioned marriage is well-established and not going anywhere. I see more value in dealing with that real-world situation than a highly unlikely hypothetical.

Fair enough. In that case, I have no problem with civil marriage, and don't see eliminating it as one of those long-shots worth fighting for.

Agreed. Im trying to argue for whats fair for everyone to produce a amicable solution however because of my own spiritual beliefs I personally agree with the current law even though it is clearly a violation of the constitution.
