      With TPP, US was at the center of a 13-country pact excluding China. Now, 11 of them made a pact excluding US, and many are getting closer to China.       I'm guessing never Opposition to TPP was shared by anti-trade factions on both left and right. The explanation that Trump did it for his populist/isolationist base has some credence. The econ case for TPP was pretty good, but mixed. But the geopolitical case was incredibly strong
