Why? Meaning, what about the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, or the Trump administration's performance in office thus far, makes you think they'll find a way to resolve the conflict?

I think the SA change is genuine as well. But the Saudis don't control the Palestinians, and the US has long been a strong supporter of Israel (with different administrations varying somewhat). If US support for Israel was the key to lasting peace, it would've happened already.
