Sounds like “someone I agree with 70% of the time isn’t my enemy.” Or it used to be that way.

Or even 30%, especially if the 30% we're agreeing on is a big deal.

Sure, fine. But if you disagree on that, and agree on other things, why not work together in those other areas?

Doesn't it sort of depend on the thing they disagree about?

Two reasons 1) you're a fanatic or 2) this thing you can't agree on, it's a biggie, like they're a cannibal.
-
He means though Republicans & Democrats who disagree on many issues, but who agree in opposition to Trump, should work together on Trump.
-
Probably but I fear my answers are nonetheless correct
-
As I read it, it was abt working w/ those you disagree w/ when there's a common goal of import. I didn't take it to mean work w/ deplorables
-
Well. I feel like a pedant by saying this but deplorable are I the eye of the beholder. But let me come back on a second point 1/2

2/2 But the bigger issue is political risk. Moderates on either side can't reach out on even small things for fear of being cast as traitors

That fear, seems to me, unwarranted. Moderates are the majority, though politicians need courage to realize if they stay center they win.

Me and my pastor agree on majority of things, except NAMBLA. He's for, I'm against. We should still work together?
