Aren't inspections also required under the NPT, which is separate from the JCPOA (and a formal treaty to boot)?

-
Yes, but less extensive. Under JCPOA, Iran agreed to greater restrictions--and inspections to verify them--than any other country under NPT.
-
And if JCPOA falls apart, Iran has an excuse to kick out inspectors, while international community lacks leverage to get them back in.
-
JCPOA is a separate issue from NPT, right? So if Iran prevents inspections under NPT, do you think the Europeans will also let that slide?
-
I sure hope not. And I like to think they wouldn't. But they're so disgusted with Trump that there's a risk.
-
Can't disagree with that. But also huge risks of staying in a deal that only requires the mullahs to be patient for 8 more years. 1/2

2/2 And yes I know you just wrote on this on Medium but I haven't become a member (yet). So much current events reading to keep up with....

Iran has been complying. Trump will try to manipulate the facts to justify pulling out of the Iranian nuclear agreement.
