Nigerian-Americans = most educated immigrant group. 61% have college degrees, compared to 33% of US overall. Clearly not about skills-based immigration or dependency on the state. In case there was any doubt what Trump meant when he contrasted “shithole countries” with Norway.

Even though I know there isn’t a good answer,what was the administrations reasoning to add Nigeria to the list? Is there nothing Congress can do about this?

Official reason is difficulty vetting relating to specifics of Nigerian public records. But they’re not working hard to push a pretext this time, especially now that SCOTUS has given travel bans the green light as long as, technically, there’s some pretext.
