Why should I care what someone believes if they don't give reasons? Recalling no party is refutation insofar as that is possible. You can't actively recall a non-party. This is exactly what people mean when they say it's impossible to prove a negative.

Doubtful you have an alibi for every minute of your life, and that's perfectly normal. Expecting someone to provide an alibi 36 years later (approx. Since we have no date) is actually the opposite of normal.

Fair enough, I probably misread your point. In that sense, you're right that an alibi, could, disprove a negative, if it's a credible alibi.

Yes, that point was in the abstract, in response to a general statement. As in proving a negative is possible--that's what alibis do--not that it is possible to do so in this case. Sorry for not making that distinction clear.
