You for sure remember the year and the city, I bet.

Sure. That's basically what I mean by "junior year, sometime in the fall."

What would cast doubt on her testimony? Her named witnesses offering no corroboration? Politically significant timing? I mean what does it take?
-
Her named witnesses offering no corroboration casts doubt on her testimony.
-
Ok. But you'd say not enough doubt to render it not credible overall, or something along those lines?
-
Yes. That's why the core disagreement I identified is over what the standard of proof should be in this situation.

Even then, if it didn't happen in a classroom or somewhere with context, I often can't even place the year. And I'm 15 years younger than Ford. As for ancillary details like how I got somewhere, no way.
-
In most cases, I'd have to reason backward. "I was with X, who I didn't become friends with until junior year, so it was after that." And you can't drive until 17 at the earliest in New York, so I got a lot of rides from seniors, some of whom I couldn't even name today.
-
This is entirely how memory works. When I was told my son would always be disabled, I have no idea how I got into the room, when I left, what exactly I said, whether a nurse was present. And there is no more searing memory to me.

It seems an experience as alleged would be remembered differently than most casual gatherings, though.
-
The experience itself, yes. The date or how she got there, not necessarily. Think of your most memorable experiences from high school, positive or negative. Do you remember the date? How you got to where it happened and how you left afterwards? I sure don't for many, if not most.
-
I really can't say, because I didn't experience anything remotely like the tragic circumstance she describes. I do think I would think about it constantly, though, and it would relate with other events in that manner.

No, but then I didn't get raped at any of them.
-
But surely you have some memorable experiences from those years (positive or negative). Do you remember all those ancillary details for all of them? Or is the experience vivid in your mind, while the date or how you got there has faded?
-
All ancillary details, no. But I think I could use the ones that I do remember to piece together the gross ones.

I didn’t have my first drink until college, I am younger than these people, and I couldn’t even narrow down definitively most of my high school memories to year.

Of course not. Unless I was attacked and traumatized for life - that I would recall.
