Don’t care if Kavanaugh drank a lot in teens or 20s—though everyone’s responsible for actions, intoxicated or not—but he clearly did. College roommate said he was “frequently, incoherently drunk,” HS yearbook full of references to it. If just youthful indiscretion, lying is weird

George W Bush drank too much, almost certainly drugs too, grew out of it. Obama admitted marijuana and cocaine, grew out of it. Nowadays most Americans, including me, don’t care about public figures’ youthful partying. So why lie, Kavanaugh? Esp when there’s a bunch of evidence?

Kavanaugh's pre-hearing statement shifts to admitting sometimes he drank too much and sometimes acted like a jerk when he was younger. It would've been more honest--and, I think politically smarter--if he did that from the beginning. (See my tweets above)https://twitter.com/CHueyBurns/status/1044982393990533121 …
Nicholas Grossman added,
Caitlin Huey-BurnsVerified account @CHueyBurnsExcerpt, from Kavanaugh: ..."But I was not perfect in those days, just as I am not perfect today. I drank beer with my friends, usually on weekends. Sometimes I had too many. In retrospect, I said and did things in high school that make me cringe now. Replying to @NGrossman81
This whole episode has served to reinforce my initial impression that he'll say what he needs to say to get the things he wants, which now defines my opinion of his credibility and character. As a partisan operator he had an uphill battle with me, but he failed completely.

My article arguing that Kavanaugh should withdraw or be replaced is now 8 days old. Nothing since has given me reason to revise my stance.
