Don’t care if Kavanaugh drank a lot in teens or 20s—though everyone’s responsible for actions, intoxicated or not—but he clearly did. College roommate said he was “frequently, incoherently drunk,” HS yearbook full of references to it. If just youthful indiscretion, lying is weird

George W Bush drank too much, almost certainly drugs too, grew out of it. Obama admitted marijuana and cocaine, grew out of it. Nowadays most Americans, including me, don’t care about public figures’ youthful partying. So why lie, Kavanaugh? Esp when there’s a bunch of evidence?

Why is the lying weird? They all see Trump do it & get away with it. If there's no consequences, why not lie? The war on "knowing" has gone exceptionally well for Conservatives.

"If there's no consequences, why not lie?" Integrity, shame, reputation, long-term strategy. But I take your point. More will do it after watching Trump.
