I don't fault anyone for caring passionately about SCOTUS. It decides many important issues, affecting many people's lives. But I draw the line at breaking the institution in order to save it. You're just breaking it, undermining your policy goals (and much more) in the long-run.

Primarily an argument against court-packing. But the Senate refusing to even consider a president's nominee damaged the institution. And if the Senate pushes through someone under multiple clouds of suspicion it would damage it further.
