I’ve taught college classes on terrorism for a decade now, and each year students have less personal memory of September 11th. It’s becoming history, like Pearl Harbor.
#NeverForget isn’t just a slogan. Collective memory—not just what, but how and why—takes effort.
Personal experience? None. I’m 37. Otherwise, way more than would fit in a tweet. But I’m a Poli Sci prof that teaches US foreign policy and national security, so I’m probably not a typical case on this.
