It's absolutely fine to see free speech was a right, but can we not pretend it's consequentially better, too? Sunlight is not always that great a disinfectant.

I usually oppose private efforts to silence speech, especially shouting down a speaker rather than disputing their ideas. But that's separate from the empirical claim that more exposure for crazy ideas weakens them. Not sure how anyone can think that after the last few years.
