Complaint that media was mean to McCain is nuts (whether or not you add "and this is why we got Trump") Overall, very positive. Perpetuated "maverick" brand. McCain joked media was his base. David Brooks called him McCain (R-media). Take a break from grievance-mongering for once.
Earth. Although I've become less certain this is Earth 1 (kidding, kidding).

Another good one, about 2012.http://www.journalism.org/2012/11/02/winning-media-campaign-2012/ …

Also, I'm skeptical of these negative-positive coverage studies, in part because they imply negative coverage was unjustified. For example, "Sarah Palin Displays Poor Knowledge of Foreign Policy" would be a negative story about the McCain campaign. It would also be accurate.

lol. I was harsh, sorry. But, so was media coverage of McCain: http://www.journalism.org/files/legacy/WINNING%20THE%20MEDIA%20CAMPAIGN%20FINAL.pdf …

I didn't say all coverage was positive. Just that McCain's overall relationship with the press was, and that either way, it's pathetic to claim 2008 media coverage forced anyone to vote a certain way in 2016.

Agreed, but if shenanigans like leaked debate questions occurred in 2008 or 2012, it means media was directly trying to influence the vote, and not just reporting news.
