It won't matter unless there are consequences. But what makes you confident there won't be? (I'm not sure there will be. But I'm definitely not sure there won't be either).

Trump is kind of an anomaly. He should have faced consequences in the 70's for defying DOJ requests for discovery. Since then he's become a lightning rod of attention that even more powerful people seem to prefer keeping propped up. Also, their war on epistemology is going well.
