Increasingly looks like Jared Kushner's big idea for Israeli-Palestinian peace is to try to erase the concept of Palestinian as a nationality.https://twitter.com/Joyce_Karam/status/1025476346145918976 …
I disagree that a Jewish American is inherently incapable of approaching Israel-Palestine equitably. As for Jared specifically, the answer is because he's the president's son-in-law, has some Middle East relationships, and decided this would be one of the many things he took on.

I agree with you re "inherently incapable." However, I don't think it's a good choice. It's as (apparently) conflicted as having a native New Yorker as homeplate umpire at a Yankees/BoSox game. Some might question that, and I'm surprised I haven't heard it said before.

No. There are plenty of non-zionist jewish Americans. They are above all, Americans, unless you can prove otherwise. By your logic, the US shouldn’t hire a Chinese American to be an ambassador to China.

I think Jared lacks knowledge and motivation to provide a fair settlement. I think very few Americans have taken the time to listen to all sides in this dispute.
