What’s that from (the part in quotes)?
-
Terry Pratchett. Possibly The Lost Continent?
-
He has this hilarious riff somewhere about explorers going around, asking natives what some landmark is called, and so some mountain comes to be named, "It is your finger. Why are you asking me its name?", or "Who is this fool who does not know what a mountain is", & so on.

I haven't read that one, but I get a kick out of his sense of humor (esp. in Good Omens), and that bit you posted is funny. I'll have to check it out.

Pratchett is wonderful, and his books were what kept me sane-ish through law school. Pick up whatever title your local bookstore happens you have : ]

And if you hadn't already heard about this, here's some additional good news: https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2017/good-omens-first-look …

I saw. Looking forward to it.
