Did Trump not realize Helsinki would be received poorly, including by some who support him? Or did he anticipate the reaction, but do it anyway? Has to be one or the other. Neither is good.

He's good at anticipating public reactions, except when they contradict the fragile narrative he's arranged in his head to explain why he's great. It's why he stumbles on simple stuff like inauguration crowd size, turning non-issue into issue. He's a malignant narcissist.
