I think they’re just trying to get through each news cycle. It sounds good enough in the moment. Move on to the next thing. So much chaos, so little time. This could get them in trouble in the long run. But for now, they’re hanging on.

In all likelihood, if the unnamed were Republicans or Trump team members...that would be the first thing mentioned. That they are being kept unnamed indicates that they are either Democrats or swamp-monsters.
