Critics claim Russian intelligence didn't hack the DNC. Or that it wasn't hacked at all. Sean Hannity says Democrats and the "Deep State" made it up to hurt Donald Trump, and, in a debunked conspiracy theory, that it was really Seth Rich, a Dem staffer Hillary had murdered. 3/

Glenn Greenwald says the Democrats and the "Deep State" made it up, because they were embarrassed by Hillary's loss, and because they're trying to manufacture conflict with Russia. 4/

Greenwald et. al. cry "where's the evidence?" On that, they have a point. The US intelligence community (and now the Mueller investigation) based assessments, in part, on classified information, which the public does not have the opportunity to evaluate independently. 5/

There's public evidence of Russian information operations aimed at the 2016 election. But on the DNC hack specifically, public knowledge is based on reports that come down to "the US intelligence community assesses" or "the Department of Justice alleges." 6/

Trump, Hannity, Greenwald, and the Russian gov say the DNC hack is made up. FBI, CIA, the rest of the US IC, Mueller and the Justice Dept, and multiple private cyber security firms with financial incentives to disagree all agree Russia did it. You choose who you believe. (END)
