I doubt it. NATO set the 2% of GDP spending threshold in 2014, and the agreement calls for all members to meet it by 2024. Since then, most have raised their defense spending (though most remain below 2%).

Asa citizen of a NATO country that should spend more,I am willing to call on my government to do so. That being said,the president’s imposing of tariffs on our steel and aluminium on national security grounds is unjustified. We are not an adversary. Vladimir Putin is.

What is US going to do about it? Withdraw its military from Europe? US wants its military everywhere in the world, even (or especially) in countries that certainly do not pay anything for it (other than unwillingly with the lives of their people).
